Kelsey Bartrum

Kelsey Bartrum

Kelsey Bartrum is currently completing Liberty University’s master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. As a counselor-in-training and with her undergraduate degree in Biology, she has a unique understanding of how neurological and psychological factors intersect. She is passionate about exploring her clients’ experiences, emotions, and challenges from a holistic perspective – considering the mental, spiritual, cultural, and physical elements that shape each person’s journey.

Kelsey understands that just as life can be filled with joy, happiness, and peace, it can also be overtaken by pain, hurt, and hardship. The challenging parts of our stories can be overwhelming to face alone. Kelsey welcomes all emotions and stories into the counseling space, offering a place where clients can show up fully as they are – without judgement. As a counseling intern, Kelsey is passionate about walking alongside her clients – meeting them in an authentic way with a deep respect for their unique lived experiences. She values cultivating a therapeutic space rooted in humility, compassion, trust, and empathy. With a service-oriented heart, she aims to foster hope, healing, and a renewed sense of purpose for clients as they navigate the complexities of life.

She is passionate about supporting clients of all ages. With a background as a behavior technician, she has unique professional experience working with children with autism, behavioral challenges, and the neurodivergent community in play-based settings. Other areas of clinical interest include anxiety, depression, premarital couples, teens, young adults, spirituality, identity struggles, and religious trauma.

In her free time, Kelsey enjoys staying active, going on outdoor walks/hikes, playing pickleball, baking sourdough, cooking, trying new foods, and spending time with her husband and family. She values balance and practicing self-care.

Professional growth is important to Kelsey as she continues her educational journey. She currently practices under the supervision of a licensed clinician as she completes her graduate training in counseling. With this, clients have the unique benefit of collaborative treatment supported by multiple professionals.

Kelsey is currently accepting new clients at a reduced fee. If you wish to schedule an appointment or have questions, she can be reached by email (kelsey.doorsofhope@gmail.com), phone (913)712-4412 ext. 110, or through the ‘contact us’ page on this website.
