Olivia Gibbons
Olivia Gibbons is completing her master’s degree in counseling psychology at the University of Kansas. Olivia also completed her B.A. in Psychology at the University of Kansas. She has experience utilizing strengths-based positive psychotherapy to help empower clients to create wellbeing and hope for their future.
Olivia advocates that the therapeutic process can help clients explore life’s challenges and feel heard in their distress. She focuses on creating a space where clients feel supported and welcomed by recognizing clients’ lived experiences and unique identities. Olivia strives to empower clients in their goals and discover what healing means to them.
She is committed to providing support to clients with various presenting concerns and treatment goals. Her training in positive psychotherapy has provided her with a unique skill set working with adults navigating career challenges, depression and anxiety, life transitions, and social belonging.
Other areas of Olivia’s interest include working with clients of all ages in individual, couple, and group settings. She is also interested in grief, trauma, OCD, mood disorders, personality disorders, and spirituality.
Olivia strives to tailor the therapeutic process to each client and incorporate evidence-based treatments to help facilitate healing through a multidimensional approach.
In her free time, Olivia enjoys trying new baking recipes, doing Pilates and yoga, reading, spending time with loved ones, and having movie nights. She emphasizes the importance of engaging in activities that create well-being and are restorative.
Olivia is currently practicing under the supervision of licensed clinicians as she completes her graduate degree. This helps her expand upon her training, in addition to providing clients with shared support by multiple clinicians.
