Heather Graham

Heather Graham

As a therapist, I believe healing happens best in spaces where people feel safe, affirmed, and free to show up as their authentic selves. My goal is to create a space where everyone feels safe and respected, including individuals who are neurodiverse, part of the LGBTQ+ community, living with chronic illness, or carrying experiences of marginalization. These values are in line with my commitment to making care accessible and inclusive.

In my work, I enjoy finding new ways to help clients process their experiences. For some, this might mean thoughtful  conversation; for others, it could include art therapy, video games, creative writing, or other forms of self-expression.

I have been trained to work with a multitude of client problems and populations but specifically enjoyed my work with adolescents, individuals living with chronic illness and pain, and people navigating systemic barriers—including immigrants, refugees, unhoused individuals, and those from low-income communities. These experiences
have deepened my commitment to accessible, affirming care.

My therapeutic style draws from CBT, ACT, narrative, and psychodynamic approaches, but I prioritize flexibility—meeting clients where they are rather than fitting them into a rigid method. My background as a researcher studying social inequities in the Deep South also shapes how I approach therapy: I recognize how personal challenges are often tied to larger systems and believe in honoring both.

My ultimate goal is for every client to feel seen, supported, and capable of change. No matter your background or struggles, therapy with me is a space to find safety, acceptance, and healing.  Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my family (prepare to see pictures of my pets!), writing my novel, and being in nature. These practices keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of rest, connection, and self-expression—things I encourage clients to cultivate for themselves as well.
